About the position
As an Electrical/Fire Alarm Estimator, you will play a critical role in our company’s growth and success by accurately estimating the costs and resources required for fire alarm system installations and upgrades.
You will collaborate closely with our sales, design, and project management teams to ensure accurate and competitive project bids.
Your attention to detail and knowledge of fire alarm systems will be crucial in providing accurate cost estimates and contributing to the overall success of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Review project requirements, specifications, and drawings to develop detailed fire alarm system cost estimates.
- Conduct on-site visits and assessments to gather relevant project information Collaborate with the sales team to review bid documents and participate in bid strategy meetings.
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project costs and timelines.
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure that the proposed fire alarm systems meet applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Work closely with project managers to provide support during the project lifecycle, including cost tracking and change order management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and changes in fire alarm codes and standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience in fire alarm system estimation or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of fire alarm system components, codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NFPA, CAN/ULC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g. ProEst) is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Must have a valid G2 or G license
- Able to drive occasionally throughout the GTA to site visits

- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in estimating project costs.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CET, CFAA) are desirable but not mandatory.
